Aston Martin Valhalla Spider: price, power and delivery date
Aston Martin has taken the roof off its hybrid Valhalla without giving up any of its 1,079 hp or its 350 km/h top speed. Estimated price, production numbers, 2027 deliveries: what the brand confirmed on 28 October 2026, and what the press expects.

Aston Martin revealed the Valhalla Spider on 28 October 2026, an open-top version of its 1,079 hp plug-in hybrid supercar that reaches 350 km/h with or without its roof. The price is not official yet, but the British press expects it to cost around 40% more than the coupé, between £935,000 and £1.3 million, with first deliveries in the third quarter of 2027.
The figures in this article come from Aston Martin's press release, except those we credit to a magazine, named each time.
- combined output
- 1,079hp

- 350km/h
- 0 to 100 km/h, according to the press
- 2.5s

- 1,680kg
The 0 to 100 km/h time and the weight come from the British press, Aston Martin's press release does not give them.
What changes compared with the Valhalla coupé?
The mechanicals stay the same. The Spider keeps the coupé's carbon tub, developed with AMPT, the consulting arm of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 team, along with its powertrain and active aerodynamics. The engineers mainly recalibrated the aerodynamics and stability control so that the car behaves the same way with or without its roof.
It is also the first series-production Aston Martin with a mid-mounted engine and no fixed roof. Most of the changes are around the cabin:
- Roof: a removable black fabric panel, stowed on board, comes as standard. A carbon fibre hard top is available as an option, and a cover protects the cabin from rain when the car is parked.
- Wind deflector: with the roof off, a clip-in deflector guides air towards the engine intake and lifts it over the occupants. Folded in three, it fits in the new 15-litre storage compartments in the sills.
- Engine air intake: the snorkel behind the cabin has been reshaped and stands 35 mm taller.
- Seats: a new carbon fibre Touring seat, more comfortable and easier to get into with the roof on, is fitted as standard. The coupé's bucket seat remains available at no extra cost.
- Doors: they still open upwards, but no longer have a window frame.
- Weight: 1,680 kg dry with the lightweight options, 25 kg more than the coupé, according to evo, Autocar and Auto Express.

Until the first Valhalla Spiders arrive, this is the closest open-top Aston Martin in our range.
What engine and how much power?

The Spider carries over the coupé's plug-in hybrid powertrain unchanged. In the middle sits a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with a flat-plane crank, unique to the Valhalla, producing 828 hp. Aston Martin describes it as its most powerful combustion engine per litre.
Three electric motors, fed by a high-performance battery, add 251 hp. Two of them drive the front wheels and shift torque from one to the other. The third, mounted next to the eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, assists the V8 on the rear axle. No shaft links the front and rear, and the electronics manage the drive sent to each wheel.
- Combustion engine: 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, 828 hp
- Electric motors: three, 251 hp in total
- Combined output: 1,079 hp
- Torque: 1,100 Nm
- Gearbox: dual-clutch, eight speeds
- Driven wheels: all four, the front ones electrically only
- Downforce: more than 600 kg, roof on
The press release gives neither the battery capacity nor the electric-only range.
Can it really do 350 km/h without a roof?
Yes. With the roof off and the deflector in place, the Valhalla Spider reaches the same top speed as the coupé, 350 km/h, electronically limited. With the fabric roof fitted, it is limited to 200 km/h. To keep 350 km/h with the roof on, you need the optional carbon fibre hard top.
Aston Martin calls it the fastest open-top car in its history. The Valkyrie Spider, the brand's V12 hypercar, topped out at 330 km/h with its roof off, according to Autocar.
How much does the Aston Martin Valhalla Spider cost?

Aston Martin has not published a price. Two British magazines report the same increase, around 40% more than the Valhalla coupé, but not the same amount. evo puts it at around £935,000, Autocar at around £1.3 million. These are estimates, not list prices.
According to Autocar, most cars have already been sold, about a year before production starts. The magazine pits the Spider against the Ferrari 849 Testarossa Spider and estimates it will cost about three times as much as the Italian car.
How many will be built, and when do deliveries start?
Aston Martin plans to build 999 Valhallas in total. According to evo, Autocar and Motoring Research, the Spider should account for about one in four, around 250 cars. Auto Express notes that the final number has not been set.
First deliveries will start in the third quarter of 2027, the press release says. Before that, the public can see the car at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas, from 29 October to 1 November 2026.

Our view
Aston Martin has taken the roof off the Valhalla without losing any top speed, for just 25 kg more. With an estimated price of around a million pounds and a run that is almost sold out, the Spider will stay a collector's car that most enthusiasts will only ever see in photos.
